HOW TO REACH IT?

Reach Tivoli is quite easy: there are several trains from Roma Tiburtina to Tivoli central station.

From that point, there are different buses to the most interesting places in the city.

WHAT MAKES THIS TOWN SPECIAL?

• Tivoli is a pristine mountain town that stands into a natural and environment and preserves different UNESCO World heritage sites;
• The seat of one of the most requested locations to visit near Rome: Villa Adriana;
• It hosts also other two magnificent residences: Villa d’Este and Villa Gregoriana.

WHAT TO SEE:

VILLA ADRIANA

Located a little far from the center ( but easily reachable with bus CAT. n. 4 for 11 stops), represents the must-go attraction in Tivoli. 

It was built on the behavior of Emperor Adrian between 118 AD and 138 AD.

Considered more like a little town than a residence, this place can walk you back to Ancient roman time, with its wonderful gardens and fountains.

Opening time: winter 9.00 AM - 5.00 PM; summer 9.00 AM TO 7.00 PM.

VILLA D’ESTE

To reach this place, you should go back to the center of the city and take the CAT. bus n. 4 in the opposite direction and get off at Piazza Garibaldi stop.

This residence was commissioned by Cardinal Ippolito II d’Este and represents one example of renaissance gardens in Europe.

It hosts several green areas and the Palace.

The most interesting things in this site are the many different fountains with them beautiful sculptures often dedicated to divinities.

Price: adults 10.00 €, people under 18 2.00 €.

Opening hours: winter 8.30 AM - 4.00 PM; summer 8.30 AM - 6.00 PM.

VILLA GREGORIANA

The entrance to this place is just 200 meters from the Tivoli station.

This residence commissioned by Pope Gregory XVI stands in a beautiful and reach in nature and landscapes environment. It is completely surrounded by waterfalls, grottoes, and vegetation, it represents a good destination for those who love taking a walk in a great green scenery or photography lovers.

Price: 7.00 €.

Opening hours: Mar/Nov/Dec  10.00 AM - 4.00 PM; Apr-Oct 10.00 AM - 6.30 PM.

The food tradition of this area is very close to Rome’s one. There are different kinds of pasta, cheese, and bacon.
